What's Actually Happening Up There
Real, computed sky data -- not a generic "Mercury retrograde is coming for you" post. What's genuinely happening astronomically right now, what it means symbolically, and why none of it is something to brace for.

What Retrograde Actually Means
The mechanism
A planet doesn't actually reverse course -- it only looks that way from Earth. As we pass a slower outer planet on the inside track (or an inner planet like Mercury laps us), the difference in orbital speed creates an optical illusion of backward motion, the same way a slower car looks like it's rolling backward when you overtake it on the highway. It's real geometry, not a cosmic malfunction.
The traditional reading
Traditionally, retrograde periods are read as a good stretch for review rather than launch -- revisiting, editing, reconnecting -- since the planet's energy is turned inward rather than pushing forward. That's a lens to consider, not a warning. Plenty of real things get signed, sent and started during a retrograde every single day.
What An Eclipse Actually Is
The mechanism
A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and Sun, briefly blocking its light from a narrow path on Earth. A lunar eclipse is the reverse -- the Earth passes between the Sun and Moon, casting its shadow across the Moon's face. Both only happen at a New or Full Moon, and only when the Moon's tilted orbit lines up just right -- which is why eclipses are real, rare, predictable astronomical events, not omens.
The traditional reading
Traditionally, eclipses are read as accelerated turning points -- moments when something that's already been building tends to surface or resolve faster than usual. That's a frame for paying attention, not a prediction of what will happen. Nothing about an eclipse decides your week for you.
